2023 National Oral Health Conference
Location: Orlando, FL, April 17-19, 2023

The National Oral Health Conference® (NOHC) is “the premier meeting” for those interested in continuing education and networking opportunities within the discipline of Dental Public Health. 2023 will mark the 24th joint meeting of the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors (ASTDD) and the American Association of Public Health Dentistry (AAPHD).
NOHC offers educational sessions on a diverse array of topics by leaders in the field and is designed for dentists, dental hygienists, health researchers, dental/health educators, legislators, public health officials, Medicaid/CHIP dental program staff or consultants, state/territorial dental directors, county/city/local dental directors, community health center personnel, students, school-based and school-linked health center personnel, federally-employed dental personnel, as well as dental manufacturers/distributors and dental insurance companies – in short, anyone interested in engaging in collaboration to improve the oral health of the public.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS NOW OPEN FOR ALL TYPES!
The following are deadline dates and descriptions to submit by category type:
60 and 90 minute Seminars - Close 9/7/22
A 60-minute seminar should address one critical issue, technique, or model in a clear and concise manner that is easy for the audience to understand. This seminar may present the topic in broad overview or focus in more detail on no more than three aspects of the topic. It should not attempt to cover “A to Z” for any subject. There should be no more than two (2) speakers and 10-15 minutes dedicated to Q&A from the participants during the last 10 minutes of the program. Introductions and Q and A will be facilitated by a moderator.
A 90-minute seminar provides the audience with an opportunity to delve more deeply into a topic than possible during a 60-minute seminar. The audience will learn about an issue (or a set of closely related issues) that is of immediate relevance and importance to the dental public health community. A 90-minute seminar should address the details of one or more solutions, techniques, or models that are innovative or based on current best practices. At least 15 minutes dedicated to Q&A from the participants is effective. Introductions and Q and A will be facilitated by an NOHC volunteer moderator.
Weekend Workshops - Close 9/30/22
A workshop is an engaging and highly collaborative interactive learning experience facilitated by no more than three leaders. Workshops are a minimum of two hours and a maximum of 8 hours long. Workshops should accommodate a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 100 participants. The submission deadline for weekend workshops is also 11:45 p.m. EDT, September 30, 2022! If you are interested in submitting an abstract for a Weekend Workshop, please contact Christine Wood at email@example.com or Frances Kim at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your proposal and receive permission to submit prior to submitting an abstract. If you did not receive approval from one of them to submit for a weekend workshop, your submission will not be considered for review.
General Poster and Oral Presentation Abstracts - Close 10/18/22
The Poster session will be held Monday, April 11, 2022. The Oral Presentation sessions will take place during a Concurrent Sessions. Times to be determined by the Planning Committee. The AAPHD Council on Educational Affairs is interested in issues relevant to dental public health. These may address scientific research, community-based interventions, workforce issues, epidemiology of oral diseases, oral health disparities, oral health policy, oral health promotion, and program evaluation. Abstracts to be considered for the AAPHD Student Merit Award program should not be submitted a second time for the General Poster Session.
Roundtables - Close 10/18/22
The Program Committee invites abstract submissions for the Roundtable Sessions presenting scientific research, program evaluations, community-based interventions and partnerships related to dental public health. The Roundtable Sessions will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022.
